Steve Plays Lead Guitar

Steve is the lead guitarist for Lock Down. Steve first picked up the guitar at age 11 starting on acoustic. However a long hiatus Steve picked up the guitar again while studying at University. This time moving over to electric guitar. Steve then joined his first band while studying in Manchester with some fellow students. The band was a Prog rock band playing mainly instrumentals. It was here that he fully developed his lead guitar playing style.
Steve has also been involved in various recording projects over the years and has built up quite a lot of recording gear (its getting so cheap nowadays!!), he also recorded the Lock down demo.
In 2006 Steve played as lead guitarist in Milton Keynes band Gathering Storm. This is where he met future lock down member Mark Morris. The band played such venues as Josephs Well in Leeds and the Loft in Cambridge during there tenure.
We can tell you that Steve is somewhat of a perfectionist, there have been many times in band practices when Steve will just stop us all mid way through a song to tell us that one or more of us is doing it wrong. So in many ways Steve could be thought of as our quality control valve, if you think we are good, then that is in no small part to Steve's constant calls for us to do this song faster, that song slower, or for 'god sakes its these notes and not those'.
All of that said, it should be noted that Steve is a very laid back person and is very easy to get along with and does always let us know in the nicest possible way when we are making a total cock up of a song.
Steve has two guitars one is some type of Fender Telecaster Custom and the other is a Westfield Les Paul. He currently plays these through a Vox AC30 and has a collection of various pedals.
